DGH Platinum Sponsor: 2023 Mayor’s Charity Ball Resounding Success!

The 2023 Mayor's Charity Ball, held recently in our vibrant community, exceeded all expectations as it raised an astounding amount of over $90,000 for two remarkable local charities. This milestone achievement is a testament to the generosity and compassion of our community members, as well as their unwavering commitment to making a positive impact.

With this year's funds carefully allocated, both the Australian Street Aid Project and Ronald McDonald House Charities Mackay Family Room will receive an equal share of $45,529.01. The announcement and official presentation of the funds took place during a council morning tea on May 30, where representatives from the two charities were warmly acknowledged and thanked.

The Australian Street Aid Project, dedicated to supporting individuals experiencing homelessness in the Mackay region, will utilise their share of the funds to make a tangible difference in the lives of those in need. Meanwhile, Ronald McDonald House Charities (RMHC) plans to allocate the funds towards the operational costs of the RMHC Family Room in Mackay, providing a sanctuary for families with children facing medical challenges.

During the morning tea event, DGH was presented with a certificate of appreciation for being a Platinum Sponsor of the event.

The Mayor's Charity Ball, previously organized by the Sunrise Rotary Club of Mackay, had an illustrious history of raising approximately $600,000 over 15 years. In a seamless transition, the responsibility of organizing this grand event was transferred to the council, the MECC (Mackay Entertainment and Convention Centre), and a dedicated community committee. Since assuming this role, they have continued the legacy of giving back, raising an impressive $410,000 to date.

The success of the 2023 Mayor's Charity Ball goes beyond the impressive financial figures. It embodies the spirit of our community, showcasing the profound impact we can have when we come together for a noble cause. With over $1 million donated to local charities through this event, DGH is proud to support the collective efforts which have transformed countless lives and brought hope to those who need it most.

As we celebrate this incredible achievement, we would like to thank everyone who supported the 2023 Mayor's Charity Ball. Your generosity has truly made a difference in our community, inspiring us all to continue working towards a brighter and more compassionate future.

DGH was delighted to be a Platinum Corporate Sponsor of the prestigious Mackay Mayor's Charity Ball at the MECC

New Caledonian Delegates to Foster Trade Relationships With Mackay

New Caledonian Delegates To Foster Trade Relationships With Mackay

Engineering a brighter future for suppliers to the resources industry, six prominent delegates from New Caledonia are set to visit Mackay on March 6th, to explore new trade opportunities with local businesses.

Arranged by local engineering firm DGH, the delegates also hope to meet with local training and higher educational facilities, presenting an exciting opportunity for the region to diversify beyond coal and mining.

Dave Chernekoff, from DGH, travelled to New Caledonia with the goal of establishing new trade opportunities. During his visit, he discovered the opportunity to showcase the region's highly specialised services and facilities.

The delegates from New Caledonia are, Jean-Patrick Lerandy - President of AMD, Didier Coulon - VP of AMD and consultant, Sylvie d’USSEL – Manager of AMD, Geneviève Sutter, Cyrille Berhault and Soane Akilitoa.

All are keen to meet with Central Queensland University (CQU) and Resource Industry Network (RIN) to discuss training and higher education opportunities.

Jean-Patrick Lerandy is an influential figure in the maintenance/construction industry and recently introduced a mine "passport" providing access to all mines. Didier Coulon has a diverse background as an electrical engineer and worked for Nestle.

The delegates are interested in visiting various workshops and businesses that are relevant to the local mining, maintenance, and manufacturing industries. They believe that Mackay leads Australia in specialist services and industries that they see as beneficial.

Dave Chernekoff said the motivation behind the exchange is to leave the Mackay region in good shape for the next generation.

“It’s important for businesses to look outside of the coal industry to find other opportunities for the future,” he said.

“It’s about future proofing our region and looking for avenues for diversification.”

The European supply chain has become slower and less reliable, making it necessary for New Caledonia to establish "pragmatic relationships" with the region's suppliers and service providers. This visit presents a unique opportunity for businesses and training/higher educational facilities in the Mackay and Townsville regions to establish a trade relationship with New Caledonia and showcase their specialized services and facilities.

The itinerary for the visit is currently being formulated and will include a luncheon at the Shamrock Hotel from midday until 2 pm on March 6th. The visit promises to be an exciting opportunity for the region to showcase its specialised services and facilities and establish a lasting trade relationship with New Caledonia. For more information, contact Dave Chernekoff, 0427 916 770 or email [email protected].

EZ-AS – DGH’S Preventative Maintenance Software

EZ-AS - DGH'S Preventative Maintenance Software

DGH have recently developed an app to streamline, ensure consistency, ensure accuracy and monitor Quality Assurance activities across the business.

The app digitises our current forms and adds additional functionality to complement our current forms by mandating that the information captured is captured on the job, with the completed form distributed to the appropriate parties. The app has the ability to add additional content to the forms, not possible with pen and paper options. These include GPS location, photos, signatures, sketches to name a few.

The app is currently in use in our workshops and on our Regional Council Maintenance Contracts.

DGH has earned a solid reputation for onsite preventative & scheduled maintenance, equipment upgrades, and project works.

DGH have recently completed maintenance plans for all treatment plants for a local council. From those plans, we have developed and implemented a preventative maintenance software system, the EZ-AS. The EZ-AS is specifically designed for your requirements.

EZ-AS

EZ-AS, is a Preventative Maintenance Software System that has been designed to simplify and streamline the maintenance operations process.

This system will help you with the following:

  •  Asset Tracking
  • Budgeting
  • Compliance
  • Create and Manage Work Orders
  • Inventory Control
  • Manage all Equipment Data
  • Preventative Maintenance Plans
  • Purchasing – Purchase Orders
  • Record Keeping
  • Workflows

Benefits of using EZ-AS Preventative Maintenance Software:

As plants have maintenance personnel doing multiple tasks and several responsibilities. Relying on memory, rough notes and spreadsheets can make their job even harder. And the seemingly not so important preventative Maintenance checks can slip through the cracks, and could cause costly downtime.

No facility can afford downtime. EZ-AS will help keep your asset operating at peak efficiency. Maintenance personnel’s time is not best spent on activities that can be automated.

The benefits of using the EZ-AS include, but not limited to:

  • App configured to the Client requirements
  • Analysis of real maintenance costs
  • Elimination of paperwork
  • Enhanced availability
  • Increased safety and efficiency
  • Management of parts and materials
  • Planned maintenance schedules
  • Reduced equipment downtime
  • Reduced repair and maintenance costs
  • Regulatory compliance
  • Standardised preventative maintenance inspections

Even with this short list of benefits, maintenance personnel will quickly see how much of a positive impact EZ-AS could have on their maintenance checks.

With the addition of this app, it further reinforces DGH’s commitment to being a leader in the asset maintenance, engineering and fabrication spaces.
